Jacques

Originally hailing from South Africa, Jacques was drawn to Jinja by the Nile River. After spending years in the tourist industry leading rafting expeditions, he transitioned to his other passion - woodwork - and now runs his own carpentry business. After excelling in woodwork classes in secondary school, Jacques is largely self-trained and has an incredible eye for sourcing exquisite wood. 

   

He currently employs 15 Ugandan carpenters, making furniture and home decor. When not busy with his carpentry business, Jacques loves spending time with his 3 daughters and rafting the Nile.
